Located in the beautiful little town of Milawa the closest pub to our Carboor farm, Walkabout honey are one of our fabulous neighbours.  Their honey is cold extracted and packed by hand. Care is taken at each step to ensure the honey remains true to its origins. The honey is spun from the comb, settled, strained once then bottled.

Each honey variety presents its own unique taste from the sweet Ironbark to the robust Mountain Harvest. Honey is never just honey, so try a couple and find your favourite.

"Bloody Good Honey is our pick of the season. Produced by our bees in the Southern Riverina, this honey is a lovely amber colour, sweet and scrumptious. Put simply – Bloody Good Honey." - Greg

Packed in a 500g jar.

Allergen Advice

This product contains tree nuts and is made/packed on equipment that also packs other tree nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, macadamias, cashews, brazil nuts) and peanuts.  We use best practice cleaning procedures but cannot guarantee the absence of any allergen.

Recommended Storage

This product should be stored in the original packaging or alternative airtight container in a cool, dark place.  It is possible, but not necessary to refrigerate to extend shelf life.

Summer Storage

What is the issue?

We try our best to provide our customers the most natural nuts, dried fruits and other products available on the market.  For example, our hazelnuts are as nature intended.
During nut set, sometimes small moths can enter the nut prior to the hardening of the nutshell.  Other producers manage the risk by pasteurising or spraying with insecticides.  We don’t, and as a result it is possible to sustain an outbreak of pantry moth.

How you can extend shelf life

All nuts and dried fruit are semi-perishable products and should be stored in cool facilities (under 15C) to ensure long lasting freshness and also avoid growth
of pantry moths and other pests.  Nuts do store well in refrigerated storage with no impact on product quality.

It is best to check your stock frequently and rotate stock – using a first-in, first-out process – and ensure use prior to the “best before” date to avoid spoilage.

Due to the products being natural, spoilage and pest infestation can occur due to
warmth and humidity even if the products are sealed – even unopened in the original packaging.

If there are any issues

Please check all goods on receipt as there are no claims for returns or refunds beyond days from date of receipt.  We will not
be deemed responsible for any spoilage or growth of pests beyond that 7 day period.

If you have any issues – please email us on contact@carboorharvest.com.au.

Shelf Life

When stored in accordance with the Recommended Storage practices identified above, this product has a shelf life of 12 months.  It is marked with a batch number and “Best Before” date for consumers reference.  The product should be consumed within 3 months of opening.

    About Us

Since our inception in 2015, Carboor Farms has been dedicated to crafting premium nut-based products under our Carboor Harvest brand. Our nut shop offers a diverse selection of products, from delicious flavored nuts to premium extra virgin nut oils and nut butter, all made from the finest hazelnuts grown on our own farms or sourced through long-term partnerships with other growers across North East Victoria and beyond.

As an integrated agribusiness, we take pride in having complete control over our supply chain, from growing and harvesting our hazelnuts to manufacturing and marketing our products to customers both locally and internationally. Our hazelnuts are grown on our own 240 acres of prime land in the Ovens and King Valleys, one of the largest hazelnut growing regions in Australia, and we also have an ambitious planting program to increase the number of trees planted and decrease carbon footprint.

In addition to our own hazelnuts, we also acquire entire crops from farmers in North East Victoria, Tasmania, and New South Wales under crop purchase agreements, ensuring a consistent supply of the highest-quality hazelnuts for our products. With Carboor Harvest, you can trust that you're getting delicious, sustainable, and ethically-sourced nut-based products.

We have expanded our product range to include a variety of other premium, sustainably-sourced nut products grown right here in Australia. Our commitment to using only the highest-quality ingredients remains unchanged, and you can trust that all of our products are made from nuts grown on responsible and ethical farms. Whether you're looking for a new type of nut butter, a unique flavoured nut mix, or a versatile nut flour, we have something for everyone to enjoy. Our expansion further exemplifies our dedication to bringing delicious and sustainable products to our customers.

    Sustainability

Australian grown nuts are known for their superior quality, taste and sustainability. Here are a few reasons why:

    Why are Australian nuts better?

    • Food Miles: Many imported nuts come from faraway countries such as Turkey, requiring a significant amount of transportation and resulting in a larger carbon footprint. By choosing Australian grown nuts, you can reduce your environmental impact and support local farmers.

    • Taste: With a taste that speaks for itself, our nut products are carefully crafted using only the freshest, premium ingredients sourced directly from local farms. The unique terroir of Australia's nut-growing regions gives our products a distinctive, high-quality taste that is hard to find elsewhere.

    How is our product sustainable?

    • Sustainable Agriculture: We strive to be an ethical and responsible business and we work closely with our farmers to ensure that our nuts are grown using sustainable practices. Our commitment to sustainable agriculture is not just about protecting the environment but also about maintaining the long-term viability of our farms and our industry.

    • Sustainable diets: We believe that a diet that is high in plant-based protein, like nuts, is a more sustainable and responsible way to meet your dietary needs. Animal agriculture, which is a primary source of protein for much of the world, requires a lot of resources, generates a significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to deforestation. By consuming more nuts and other plant-based sources of protein, you can make a positive impact on the environment and reduce your carbon footprint.

    • Carbon sequestration: our hazelnut orchard act as carbon sink as well, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, so we are reducing the carbon footprint while producing high-quality hazelnuts

Overall, choosing Australian grown nuts is not only a delicious and convenient option but it also aligns with a more sustainable and ethical lifestyle. Carboor Harvest products provide a delicious and nutritious options for your diet and also a responsible choice for the environment.
