Product Description
Carboor Harvest Raw Almond Kernels are packed in small batches to ensure optimal freshness. We sell only nonpareil variety almonds. These nuts live up to their name (nonpareil means unrivalled or without equal) because they are full of flavour and have a better crunch profile than the more common Carmel almonds (that are a bit chewier).
This retail variant (1kg) is packed in re-sealable stand-up pouches and the wholesale variants (4kg and 12kg) are packed in cartons with plastic liners.

We use only Brightlight, Almondco or Riverland almonds.
Usage Suggestions
Where do we start? There are so many uses for the trusty old almond! Eat raw, use as a base for homemade nut milk, base for home made nut butter, make into a gluten free flour, crush and sprinkle on salads for a bit of texture, or even roast them with sesame and honey.
Allergen Advice
This product contains tree nuts and is made/packed on equipment that also packs other tree nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, macadamias, cashews, brazil nuts) and peanuts. We use best practice cleaning procedures but cannot guarantee the absence of any allergen.
Recommended Storage
This product should be stored in the original packaging or alternative airtight container in a cool, dark place. It is possible, but not necessary to refrigerate to extend shelf life.

What is the issue?
We try our best to provide our customers the most natural nuts, dried fruits and other products available on the market. For example, our hazelnuts are as nature intended.
During nut set, sometimes small moths can enter the nut prior to the hardening of the nutshell. Other producers manage the risk by pasteurising or spraying with insecticides. We don’t, and as a result it is possible to sustain an outbreak of pantry moth.
How you can extend shelf life
All nuts and dried fruit are semi-perishable products and should be stored in cool facilities (under 15C) to ensure long lasting freshness and also avoid growth
of pantry moths and other pests. Nuts do store well in refrigerated storage with no impact on product quality.
It is best to check your stock frequently and rotate stock – using a first-in, first-out process – and ensure use prior to the “best before” date to avoid spoilage.
Due to the products being natural, spoilage and pest infestation can occur due to
warmth and humidity even if the products are sealed – even unopened in the original packaging.

be deemed responsible for any spoilage or growth of pests beyond that 7 day period.

Shelf Life
When stored in accordance with the Recommended Storage practices identified above, this product has a shelf life of 12 months. It is marked with a batch number and “Best Before” date for consumers reference. The product should be consumed within 3 months of opening.

I ordered the almonds to make a French Praline Tart. It was the first time making this and as I was doing it for our July Winemakers Dinner, it needed to be the best I could make it - that meant starting with the freshest almonds as it’s the main ingredient. I did a tester tart after making the sugared almonds. Then tweaked the recipe slightly and it was extremely well received. Thanks so much for providing the best main ingredient, excellent service and continuous communication! I read this is also good with hazelnuts. Will look at that next!
Very good almonds, the best I've had in a long time. So much better than the nasty supermarket almonds. The kernels were large with good flavour. The only criticism is that a very small percentage of the kernels were not fresh, almost rancid. On the whole, great almonds and I will definitely buy from Carboor Harvest again.

Since our inception in 2015, Carboor Farms has been dedicated to crafting premium nut-based products under our Carboor Harvest brand.
